Casa Lethenty Chair
This child's chair is a scaled-up copy of one I bought in Venezuela - from a shop called Casa Caruba. The side frames are ash, the rails from oak and the slats are ash, elm, lime and oak. The dowels were made from walnut. The finish started with two coats of equal parts of varnish, white spirit and Danish oil and worked up through dilute to neat Danish oil. What looked relatively straightforward ended up taking quite a while - around 55 hours. But my ten year old daughter is delighted with it.
